SEO (Search Engine Optimization) is the tweaking of a website to better compete on Google. Some websites need very little changes, cause the industry that it operates in is not very competitive. As with others, and more industries every day, a lot of tweaking and changes are needed to be made to compete.
Gone are the days of writing repetitive amount of keywords and see your site rank on Google. Modern SEO is a thinking, planning, and analyzing game. A professional SEO must take the time to study, see the patterns of an industry, and make calculated decisions. Even after the changes are done, an SEO must monitor the changes for gains or losses.
SEOs must also understand that social media plays an important role in driving traffic. Engagement is not directly important for SEO ranking, but for companies brand. Also SEO needs to become more of a teacher of SEO to clients instead of just a member of the marketing team.
SEO can also be a part of the clients personal social media strategy instead of the companies. A business owner that knows how to use Linked In, Facebook, Instagram, Tik Tok for self promotion and also brand promotion will be a powerful business.
SEO is more than just the figures, graphs and changes of keywords/sales/clicks. It is a way of thinking of how to use Google to work for your business, instead getting to business to work in Google.
